A house assistant discovered Davis’ body at the residence in Southwest Ranches. While the cause of death remains unknown, Davie Police say there are no signs of foul play. The Broward County medical examiner’s office is currently investigating and could take up to 90 days to determine the official cause and manner of death.
Davis played in the NFL for nine seasons, from 2009 to 2018. During his career, he suited up for the Miami Dolphins, Indianapolis Colts, and Buffalo Bills. He was a standout player, particularly during his time with the Colts, and even earned a Pro Bowl selection.
Tributes have begun pouring in from across the NFL community. The league itself expressed its condolences, stating they are “heartbroken” by Davis’ passing. Former teams, the Colts and Dolphins, along with Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay, have also shared their condolences and praised Davis’ character and contributions to the game.
A Career Highlighted by Interceptions and Pro Bowls
Drafted by the Miami Dolphins in 2009, Davis played for nine seasons across three teams: the Dolphins, Indianapolis Colts, and Buffalo Bills. He solidified himself as a reliable cornerback, racking up 122 games played, 22 interceptions, and even returning one for a touchdown. His talent shone brightest with the Colts, where he earned Pro Bowl selections in both 2014 and 2015.

Despite his on-field achievements, Davis also faced challenges. In February 2023, he was arrested for a DUI after a car accident.
